PROJECT DEFINITION, INFORMATION AND DETAILS

The Parent-Baby Center (Perinatal Center) at the St. Johann Hospital on the premises of the Salzburg State Hospital was built as a new construction from 2008 to 2011. We were responsible for the on-site construction supervision for this project.

The functionalities of the center include outpatient departments, a parents’ refuge, bed stations, nursing support points, a neonatology ward, a surgical ward, 20 intensive care units, staff rooms, lecture rooms, a café, and technical rooms. Additionally, garden designs were implemented.

Various challenges were overcome during the project implementation, including the realization of the innovative “egg-shaped” building design, renovation work during ongoing hospital operations, and adhering to tight cost and schedule requirements.
